Barbara's Crafty Tales

- Each party revolves around your child’s choice from the themes available. Activities include storytelling, art projects, and more! Just tell us the range of ages in your group, and we'll help you select the story that would be the most entertaining for the birthday child and guests.
- Projects include horses, a pirate ship, sea creatures, and even unicorns and mermaids!

*Classroom Programs:

- We offer several ocean themes, with stories, projects and information about ocean life, including sea creatures you might currently be studying.
- Our Native American studies presentation features a Native-style story, project and includes a display of over 40 Native-made items from tribes across our country.  A program with just the Collection is available for 3rd Graders and up.
- Studying immigration or genealogy? Try our Russian horse fable, project, and begin with a brief Russian language lesson.

Programs can be adjusted for your curriculum, which we've done for public, private and parochial elementary school classes in Bullitt, Franklin, Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, and Spencer Counties, and Clark County, IN. It's a field trip in your classroom!

*Pre-school Classes:

This hour-long program features a choice of 2 stories and projects especially created for 4 - 5 year olds.

*Scouts:

Our activities can help satisfy requirements for badges while providing an entertaining meeting.

*Camp Presentations:

Have us bring your campers a special program that is fun and educational, too - you just provide the children, and we'll do the rest.

*Other Occasions:

Our presentations can be tailored to fit your event, budget, or time frame.

*Ages: 5 years old and up for the party presentation or school program; 4 - 5 for the Pre-school program.

Our activities are ideal for children to enjoy a stress-free and creative experience. All of our stories are adaptable for all girl, all boy or mixed groups.


*Where:

You pick the place, and we bring the fun! Our on-location presentations are perfect for your home, classroom, Scout meeting site, clubhouse, or any location of your choosing in Louisville and many of the surrounding counties.

*How Long: Approximately 1.5 hours; 1 hour for the  Pre-school program.

*Dates: As available - 7 days a week

*Activities:

- Children perform a narrated story while sitting in a large circle. Costumes and props appropriate to the story are supplied to the children who will portray characters in our unique stories. All costumes are worn over clothing.
- The story can be adapted to include words and phrases from Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian and Greek.
- Each child makes an individual art project to take home.
- Depending on the ages of the children, learn more about ocean life or participate in a game or song.

*Cost:

- $8 per child (including your child and any siblings who will participate in the craft).  Minimum charge of $100.
- $6.50 per child for the Pre-school program.
- For 16 children or more, or for business rates for classes or groups, please contact us for pricing.

*We Provide:

- Program/Party Leader(s)
- Name tags
- A giant-sized "birthday card" for the guests to sign and decorate
- Activities, including unique costumes and props
- Tables, if needed
- Painter's cloths for floors and rugs
- Non-toxic craft materials
- Smocks/T-shirts to wear over clothing


*You Provide:

- Children (play clothes are suggested) and access to water
- An open area for the storytelling/skit
- Refreshments, paper goods, decorations, goody/party/treat bags, etc.
